About me
With a background in medicine and significant experience in the NHS, private and corporate sectors. As a cognitive behavioural therapist registered with the BABCP, Neema works holistically with adults facing a range of anxiety and depression disorders. Neema works collaboratively to provide evidence based therapy to help people learn ways to not only recover from psychological difficulty but to sustain their recovery. Neema prides herself in helping people to become their own therapists, she believes we are all the experts on ourselves, we just need some help to see and learn this. She uses evidence-based techniques and incorporates third-wave methods such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness techniques. Neema works closely with her clients to tailor the therapy to their unique needs and circumstances, ensuring that every step taken is aligned with their personal goals for change.
Neema qualified as a doctor from King's College London, where she also earned a BSc in Philosophy and Basic Medical Sciences. She later completed a postgraduate diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy. With over 10 years of experience as a senior clinician in the NHS and as a corporate therapist for various organisations, Neema has extensive experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances.
She has a passion for addressing low self-esteem and self-confidence, recognising that these issues often underpin many other mental health challenges. She is also particularly interested in helping those with long-term conditions manage the impact on their mental health, and she has specialised skills in working with tinnitus. Neema offers both short-term and long-term therapy, always aiming to empower her clients to explore and understand themselves, enabling them to live more in line with their values and view their mental health as a source of strength rather than a hindrance.
