About me
Mr Winson Wong is a UK trained Consultant ENT Surgeon based at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He see both children and adult patients for a range of general ear, nose and throat conditions. He has a special interest in the management of benign and cancerous condition affecting the head the neck (excluding thyroid).
Following graduation in medicine from the University of Leeds in 2007, Mr Wong has completed his higher surgical training in ENT in Yorkshire. He was awarded a prestigious National Interface Fellowship in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology. This was followed by further observerships in leading cancer centres in London and Hong Kong.
Mr Wong is one of the few surgeons in the UK with experience of both Transoral Endoscopic Surgery (TOES) and Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) for the management of oropharyngeal cancer. He is the TORS lead at Hull University Teaching Hospital. Mr Wong co-authored the Oropharyngeal section in the 6th UK National Head & Neck Cancer Guideline (2024).
In addition, Mr Wong is the education Lead for the ENT department in HUTH. He organise teaching courses for trainee doctors and regularly teach on national and international surgical courses.
Besides his clinical practice, Mr Wong is active in clinical and laboratory based research. He is the NIHR Co-lead for ENT in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
