About me
Dr Joanna Moore is one of the North of England's leading liver transplant specialists and combines this with expertise in gastroenterology and general medicine. She leads the Young Adult and Wilson's Disease services at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT). Her other areas of interest are Acute Liver Failure, haemochromatosis, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, drug induced liver disease, alcohol-related liver disease, hepatitis and ascites. She performs endoscopies and fibroscans.
With over 20 years' experience, Dr Moore is an integral member of the LTHT liver team and sees patients from across the North of England and Wales with a wide variety of liver problems from abnormal liver function tests to advanced cirrhosis.
Dr Moore is widely published in numerous peer-reviewed publications, has been an advisor to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and is an author of national guidelines. She has an MD from Edinburgh University following her research into Acute Liver Failure and the pioneering use of stem cell therapy for cirrhosis.
A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, she represents the College across Yorkshire. Passionate about training the next generation of doctors, she holds post-graduate qualifications in medical education.
