About me

Hello, I help client's recover from various types of anxiety to improve difficulties in relationships, employment, or parenting. I support people who struggle from low confidence, depression and codependency.

Therapy is available remotely via video call or in a hired location in the YO61 area of York, weekdays from 9.30 am until 2 pm for face to face and later for video calls.

My passion is helping people heal from trauma. I am an ally of women and girls, all genders, sexual orientations and ethnicities, kink-friendly and supportive of men and young males.

I treat people suffering with post traumatic stress disorder PTSD some triggers include road accidents, physical or verbal attacks, sexual assault including rape, emotional abuse or an accident at work including those who work for the emergency services or armed forces. How we respond to trauma will vary depending on our attachment development.

I also support people who have long term health conditions such as chronic pain and fatigue, these conditions greatly impact our mood and we can feel misunderstood and isolated. The role of pacing and compassion is crucial if therapy is to be successful.

I support parents who are struggling to cope, guided by a secure parenting approach. Often small changes in how we percieve and behave in situations can bring rapid results improving the connection we have with our child.

I also help people with anger management, fear is the underlying emotion and when we learn about triggers and the fight or threat response we can unpack it and explore new coping strategies and ways to remain within the window of tolerance.

I support client's who want to understand their curiosities about sexual preferences or kink and links to negative emotions such as shame and developed limiting beliefs, supporting their journey to live an authentic and fulfilled life.

Many clients with long term anxiety and depression do not realise they live with trauma or codependency. Learning about attachment development can help reduce the burden. Living with anxiety and depression affects our health, our work, our family and relationships, it is exhausting. However, you can recover with the right support.

Taking the first steps into therapy can be scary especially if you are used to being 'the strong one', if you view it as a weakness or you feel ashamed. I'd like to reassure you that you are not alone in these feelings. One to one therapy can help you understand your life in ways that you might never have considered.

I know what it is like to experience anxiety and depression and sadly, there is no magic wand. However, from my personal experience and years of clinical practice you can feel better over time, if you find the strength to take the first step and invest in your happiness and well-being today.
