Dr. Mittal graduated in 2006 and completed his initial training in internal medicine at Sheffield. He then specialized in gastroenterology and endoscopy at Oxford, gaining extensive experience and expertise. In September 2022, after joining the specialist register, he was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he continues to provide expert care to a diverse patient population.

With a broad range of clinical expertise, Dr. Mittal focuses particularly on advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. His subspecialist interests include early cancer detection, complex polyp resection, familial gastrointestinal polyposis syndromes, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). As a nationally accredited bowel cancer screening colonoscopist, he is highly regarded for his skill in both upper and lower endoscopic procedures, consistently achieving exceptional outcomes and upholding the highest standards of care. He serves as the Regional Representative for Oxfordshire on the Clinical Services and Standards Committee of the British Society of Gastroenterology.
