About me

I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist and nationally accredited Bowel Cancer Screening endoscopist at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

I provide prompt specialist assessment for digestive symptoms, focusing on clear diagnosis, reassurance and personalised treatment.

Patients often see me when symptoms such as abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, bloating, diarrhoea or constipation are ongoing or causing concern. I also regularly manage irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, iron-deficiency anaemia, nausea, vomiting.

A key part of my practice is the early detection and prevention of gastrointestinal cancers. I provide bowel cancer screening, colon polyp assessment and removal and surveillance for Barrett's oesophagus and familial gastrointestinal syndromes.

As an NHS Consultant at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, I perform a high volume of gastroscopy and colonoscopy, including therapeutic procedures such as polypectomy and endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). My accreditation within the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme reflects recognised national standards of quality and safety.

I completed specialist Gastroenterology training in Oxford following Internal Medicine training in Sheffield. Alongside clinical practice, I contribute to national gastroenterology standards through roles with the British Society of Gastroenterology and the Royal College of Physicians.

I offer face-to-face, video and telephone consultations for insured and self-pay patients at The Manor Hospital in Oxford, the Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital in Aylesbury and The New Foscote Hospital in Banbury, helping patients access timely specialist advice and investigation where needed.

My aim is to provide a calm, thorough consultation, a clear plan of investigation and treatment, and reassurance at what can often be an anxious time.
