About me
I work mainly in an assimilative integration approach. My roots are based in a Person-Centred approach, providing core conditions such as empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence, that I believe are key to successful therapy. However there are often other theoretical models that can be useful when working with different clients.
I see counselling as a way to give hope, gain the ability to let go of the pains of the past and find new ways of healing.
The Willow Tree can be seen as a symbol of stability, hope and healing, I believe this also to be the case of therapy. With the right conditions, it can be possible for painful experiences to be explored, challenged and processed, allowing you, much like a Willow Tree, to grow new and stronger roots for moving forward in your lives. A Willow Branch can be planted in the ground and from it, a new tree will grow in its place. Its ability to grow and survive is powerfully symbolic and shows how we can thrive even in challenging conditions.
