About me

For over 20 years I have provided high quality evidence based psychological assessment and treatment for adults with common mental health problems.

I am pragmatic, down to earth and collaborative. I see us as a team working together to understand and deal with the problems you bring to therapy.

Over the years I have developed an efficient assessment process that ultimately saves you time and you money. We can quickly get to an understanding of the problems and effectively address them with the most appropriate and effective therapeutic ideas and practices.

Areas of interest

My main focus has been working with adults individually to address common mental health problems such as the following:

Anxiety
Chronic stress
Change, loss, grief and loneliness.
Emotional impact of Illness and injury
Family, relationship and work stress including Burnout
Depression
Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Social Anxiety Disorder
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Panic disorder
Phobias

I believe that specific forms of therapy such a Cognitive Behavior Therapy are generally better for some problems (E.g. OCD) but I usually draw upon my diverse experience and training to provide a therapy that is tailored to the needs and strengths of every individual client.

In addition to my general training in clinical psychology I have specialist training and expertise in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness based CBT.
