About me
Mr Potter is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. This is a dedicated Colorectal Unit established in 2002, as well as serving the population of Lothian it has a large tertiary referral practice. The Colorectal Unit is one of the largest in Europe and has an international research reputation.
His practice includes all aspects of colorectal surgery, in particular laparoscopic surgery, cancer surgery, treatment of pelvic floor disorders, complex endometriosis and advanced colonoscopy.
He has a keen interest in surgical training being member of the development and examination boards for the Edinburgh Surgery Online Qualifications (ESO) from its inception in 2006. This is collaboration between the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the University of Edinburgh.
He is a member of the Education Committee for the European Society of Coloproctology
