About me

As a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited Counsellor and EMDR Therapist, I am committed to providing a compassionate and effective therapeutic experience, tailored to meet your unique needs. With over a decade of professional training and experience, I offer an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from a variety of theoretical frameworks to support your mental health and well-being.

Common Mental Health Presentations:

In the UK, approximately 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year. The most common mental health issues include anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and relationship difficulties. These conditions can significantly impact your quality of life, but with the right support, it is possible to manage and overcome these challenges.

How I Can Help:

My integrative approach allows me to draw from a range of theories to create a tailored treatment plan for you as an individual. As an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) Therapist, I also specialise in helping clients process and recover from traumatic experiences, EMDR is one of the recommended treatments for trauma in the NHS England NICE Guidelines.

Benefits of a Therapeutic Relationship:

Safe and Confidential Space: My practice offers a confidential, non-judgmental, and safe environment where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings.

Personalised Support: By understanding your unique situation and needs, I provide personalised support that can help you achieve your mental health goals.

Emotional Healing and Growth: Through our work together, you can gain insights, develop coping strategies, and foster emotional healing and personal growth.

Specialties:

Pregnancy, Prenatal and Postpartum Counselling: I work both in private practice and in the NHS in a Centre for Women's Health working with antenatal anxiety, birth trauma and loss of any kind.

Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault: If you have lived with domestic abuse or believe that you are in an abusive relationship, or if you have experienced sexual related assaults, I have specific experience of working in this area. I can support you to recover and gain the confidence and skills to move forward and regain control.

Trauma and PTSD: EMDR Therapy is particularly effective in processing and resolving traumatic memories, helping you regain control and find relief.

Anxiety, Stress and Life Transitions: Whether you're dealing with work-related stress, relationship issues, or significant life changes, I provide support to navigate these challenges and opportunities to add self-soothing skills to your toolkit.

Take the First Step:

Reaching out for help is a brave and crucial first step towards a healthier and more fulfilling life. I am here to support you on your journey to mental well-being. Please feel free to contact me to schedule a free initial 15 minute telephone conversation, to ask any questions you may have about the counselling process or to book an appointment.
