About me

I am an accredited, trauma-informed counsellor. My main approach is person-centred counselling. I also have specialist training in working with trauma and PTSD; bereavement, including bereavement by suicide; working with risk and suicidal ideation; and supporting victims of sexual violence.

I have experience working in private practice, education establishments and GP counselling services. I work with a lot of general anxiety and depression and often support clients struggling with a diagnosis of ADHD and/or Autism. I am also a specialist counsellor supporting male students who have experienced any form of sexual violence and work closely with other sexual violence organisations.

As a person-centred counsellor, I make our relationship a priority and know how building trust enables you to open up, reflect and grow inner strength and resilience. I aim to create a safe space where you can feel comfortable bringing whatever you need to share.

I am an empathetic listener and will support you with warmth and encouragement as we work to overcome any difficulties you have. I see you as the expert in your own life and will strive to empower you to make any changes you think will be beneficial. I believe that you have the capacity to change and grow and that with the right support, you can become the person you want to be.

My practice is integrative and I bring in approaches from person-centred counselling, as well as theories such as CBT, somatic therapy, positive psychology and psychoeducation to meet your needs and support you in the best way I can. I am a trauma-informed practitioner and have recently trained in the Rewind technique for PTSD.
