In his his most recent roles, Dr Roberts was the Clinical Director for Developmental Disorders for The Priory Group in the UK, a role which required regular supervision of other Consultant Psychiatrists dealing with patients diagnosed with developmental disorders, specifically Autism.

Dr Roberts is a Section 12(2) approved Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in many aspects of Psychiatry, including (but not limited to) Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), CAMHS, Learning Disabilities, Forensic Psychiatry, Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment Disorder, and Gender Dysphoria. He completed his core training in Psychiatry at Cardiff & Vale Local Health Board before moving on to higher training in Psychiatry of Learning Disabilities with a special interest in CAMHS within the Severn Deanery.

Since completing his psychiatric training at the Severn Deanery, in addition to the above role, Dr Roberts has worked as the Consultant Psychiatrist at Southwick Park School in Gloucestershire (for children with complex needs including autism spectrum disorder, severe learning disabilities, and severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties) as well as Potterspury Lodge School in Northamptonshire (for children with autism spectrum disorders, complex needs, and associated behaviours).

Dr Roberts then went on to act as the Responsible Clinician/Consultant Psychiatrist for an inpatient Locked Rehabilitation unit, primarily working with patients detained under the MHA. In addition to this, his on-call duties covered three secure psychiatric units managing all aspects of both learning disability and forensic psychiatry.
