About me
I carried out my initial medical training at University College Hospital London. My senior house officer training was initially in London and in the Yorkshire region. I obtained my London MD in the genetics of coronary artery disease with research interests in inflammation, infection and coronary artery disease.
My general cardiology training was in Yorkshire. I undertook my International / Interventional Fellowship in the University of Alberta, Canada. Following this I accepted my current post at the University Hospital of Wales as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist. I am the Clinical Lead for the Chest Pain Service for Cardiff and Vale Trust and have led several projects on the primary - secondary care interface. As an Interventional Cardiologist, I have led and introduced complex interventions and have provided several aspects of interventions in Wales, including the Radial Approach, Rotational Atherectomy, the use of lasers in cardiology interventions, and various aspects dealing with Chronic Total Occlusions.
I am a world leading expert in vasculogenic erectile dysfunction and pioneered pudendal stenting to help patients suffering with ED. As part of my private clinic at Spire Cardiff Hospital I can offer patients a One Stop Shop Chest Pain Service from diagnosis to treatment. And for patients with erectile dysfunction (ED) I can offer a One Stop ED Clinic (by prior arrangement) consultation and diagnostic tests all on the same day.
I also run a medical legal practice and was a medical expert in probably one of Britain’s highest profile cases in Interventional Cardiology.
I am the Network Advisor for the Royal College of Physicians and British Cardiovascular Society.
