About me

Hello, I'm Jen, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who has worked in adult mental health for 18 years. I'm a member of the British Psychological Society and am HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registered. I offer therapy sessions in person in Derbyshire, as well as online and by phone.

Sometimes we all need a bit of help to make sense of what life throws at us, or to cope with difficult feelings. If you're struggling with anxiety or low mood, relationship problems, or coming to terms with difficult past experiences, then psychological therapy might be for you.

You're probably aware that there are different types of therapy and counselling. One advantage of Clinical Psychology is that it allows us to bring together elements of different therapeutic models, which helps to develop an individualised understanding of your difficulties. This means we can work together in a way that's tailored to your individual needs and preferences, to make sure you get the best possible return from the time you invest in therapy.

Areas of interest

I've worked in a range of different services, in the NHS, private and voluntary sectors. I specialise in working with adults who have been through traumatic experiences, whether they happened recently or a long time ago. I work with people aged 16+ with a range of mental health problems and complex needs including:

Anxiety and/or stress; anger; low mood and/or depression; OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder); PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder); complex trauma; bereavement; body image and eating problems; relationship issues; alcohol and/or substance misuse; low self esteem & confidence issues; issues relating to neurodivergence e.g. ASD and ADHD.
