About me
My therapy effectively helps people suffering with anxiety, stress, low mood, depression, relationship issues, problems at work, family conflict, lack of confidence, anger, bereavement, loss and grief to make sense of and process their thoughts and feelings; whilst gaining emotional regulation, and feeling more in control and at peace within their lives.
Alongside my private practice, I have been working for the largest mental health care partner of the NHS as an Integrative Psychotherapist - providing short and long-term therapy to a multitude of diverse clients, from working age to retirees.
Through my thousands of hours of experience working for the likes of MIND, IAPT, a national family therapy agency and a secondary school, I have found a change of mindset can be noticed after 6 weeks of therapy. I believe no size fits all, therefore I integrate with several approaches to therapy, depending on the client's need.
I hold an Advanced Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, a certified Coaching Qualification, and BA (Hons) in Theatre Studies.
I have been trained to work with a range of psychological issues. I work by exploring the present, past and future. We will start by analysing what has brought you to therapy. I then integrate with the following approaches:
Person Centred Therapy (this is a humanistic, non-directive approach, it allows you to lead the session and hear your thoughts back to yourself through careful reflection).
Psychodynamic Therapy (we will safely explore the past to unlock any subconscious links to certain thoughts, feelings and behaviours you may have in the present).
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (rapidly helps you to address irrational beliefs and unhelpful thinking patterns, which may be blocking you from becoming the person you wish to be).
We will discuss goals to achieve from the therapeutic work in order to maintain a focus, ensuring your needs are met.
Other areas of therapy include Gestalt and Transactional Analysis Therapy (understanding patterns within relationships, the 'empty chair technique', and noticing the dialogue and roles one regresses to during dysfunctional relationships).
