About me
Dr Ed Renaudon-Smith is a Consultant Haematologist at Frimley Park Hospital, with specialist interests in Haemato-Oncology and General Haematology.
He graduated from the internationally renowned University College London Medical School in 2010, with Distinction in Clinical Sciences, Merit in Clinical Practice and a range of other academic awards including The Archibald Ferguson Prize for Personal Qualities in Patient Care. His specialist interest in Haemato-oncology stems from his previous undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, where he gained a deep understanding of the molecular biology of cancer which motivated him to study medicine.
He completed his general medical training in top London hospitals including University College London Hospital, St Bartholomew's Hospital, Mount Vernon Cancer Hospital and Royal London Hospital. He subsequently undertook his specialist haematology training at Imperial College London, rotating through Hammersmith, St Mary's and other North-West London Hospitals within the region. He achieved his FRCPath qualification early during his training in 2017.
Dr Renaudon-Smith has been a Consultant Haematologist at Frimley Park Hospital since 2019. His specialist interest is in the investigation and management of patients with haematological cancers, including lymphoma, leukaemia, myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome and myeloproliferative disorders. He is particularly motivated to implement novel, evidence-based personalised therapies for patients with complex and potentially life threatening disease. He manages haematology inpatients, specialist clinics and the delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapy in a level 2b unit. He also routinely manages patients with a wide range of general haematological conditions, including red blood cell abnormalities, such as anaemia, abnormal blood counts and immunological conditions such as haemolytic anaemia, thrombocytopenia and neutropenia. He has experience in transfusion medicine, including the peri-operative management of anaemia and red cell disorders. He liaises regularly with colleagues in Oxford and Thames Valley Cancer Alliance through regional Haematology multidisciplinary meetings and has contributed to the knowledge base in the field through his publications in a range of well-respected medical journals and presentations.
He is the departmental lead for Education and Training, Clinical Governance and Safety.
Dr Renaudon-Smith is committed to using his extensive clinical and academic experience to deliver outstanding personalised clinical care with integrity, sensitivity and warmth.
