About me
Mr Ali Abdulkarim is a preeminent Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialisations in hip and knee joint replacement surgery, trauma, lower limb reconstruction, soft tissue knee surgery, and sports injuries of the lower limb. His robust training includes dual fellowships in orthopaedic surgery, complemented by over a decade of extensive clinical practice. This experience empowers him to deliver expert care in managing complex orthopaedic cases and sports-related injuries. He sees patient from Worthing, Pulborough, Horsham and further afield.
Earning a Master of Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010, Mr Abdulkarim was subsequently admitted to the prestigious Irish national training programme for trauma and orthopaedic surgery. This intensive eight-year specialist training spanned several renowned institutions and centres of excellence. At the conclusion of his training Mr Abdulkarim was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a certificate of completion of specialist Orthopaedic training subsequently he was granted a fellowship of the European board of Orthopaedic and traumatology.
Following his formal training he was awarded 2 prestigious fellowships of the Irish Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery IITOS/RCSI Travelling Fellowship in Surgery and the Irish Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellowship Award.
His post-CCT subspeciality fellowships training included 2 further years in Cambridge University Hospital at Addenbrooke and at Southmead Hospital in Bristol
He is renowned for his substantial contributions to orthopaedic research, authoring numerous articles in top-tier journals and presenting at over 100 international conferences.

Mr Abdulkarim's dedication to medical education and quality improvement is manifest in his roles as a visiting lecturer and academic supervisor. In these capacities, he has played a crucial role in shaping the careers of the next generation of medical professionals. Mr Abdulkarim is a member of the faculty of sport & exercise medicine in both the UK and Ireland.
