About me
Dr Sidhu is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in the management of all areas of general Cardiology, including breathlessness, chest pain, blackouts, palpitations, high blood pressure, valvular heart disease, assessment of cardiovascular risk and high cholesterol. He has a keen interest in research and is extremely passionate about delivering patient-centred, high-quality care and always takes the time to explain the medical situation so that patients are able to make well informed choices. Dr Sidhu fosters a safe and open environment in which both he and the patient can discuss the treatment options, proposed investigations and management plan.
Dr Sidhu works as a Consultant Cardiologist at Croydon University Hospital and is the lead for heart failure. He has a subspecialist interest in the management of patients that suffer with both heart failure and cardiac rhythm disorders. He is proficient with all cardiac devices, including, implantable loop recorders, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillator and cardiac resynchronisation therapy. These all assist with the detection and treatment of both slow and fast heart rhythm disorders. He leads the heart failure multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients with complex conditions are thoroughly investigated and appropriate management plans are implemented.
Dr Sidhu qualified from The University of Southampton with a Bachelor of Medicine. He completed his Cardiology training in London and the South East, undertaking several prestigious posts in a number of renowned centres. He subsequently completed specialist training in Cardiac Rhythm Management and Heart Failure at King's College Hospital. During his training, Dr Sidhu undertook many audits and service improvement projects to identify areas that required development and through implementing changes, he ultimately, enhanced patient care. He continues to undertake projects as a Consultant Cardiologist.
Research and publications
Dr Sidhu has a strong background in academia and has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in cardiac device therapy and cardiac imaging from Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and King's College London in 2021. He has both first and co-authored over 60 publications in leading peer reviewed international journals, investigating advances in cardiac rhythm management and heart failure. He has presented at several national and international conferences and was a finalist at the Royal Society of Medicine President's Prize Awards. Dr Sidhu continues to be actively involved in research.
Teaching
Dr Sidhu is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and was awarded the annual Best teacher prize for his brilliant training of junior doctors. He has designed and run a postgraduate teaching course which involved delivering lectures on how to effectively communicate with patients and how to adopt a patient centred approach. He has developed a monthly teaching programme at Croydon University Hospital and is currently responsible for undergraduate students within the department. He was recently congratulated by St George's University of London for delivering an excellent clinical placement. Students gave exemplary feedback and he received the highest student satisfaction rating, making his placement one of the top most highly rated clinical placements.

Dr Sidhu is an approachable doctor who is well liked by his patients. He is a proficient clinician, has meticulous attention to detail and thoroughly discusses his management plans to ensure patients remain fully informed and involved in treatment decisions. He regularly receives outstanding feedback from patients regarding his caring and compassionate bedside manner and this is reflected in his regular patient surveys. In addition, he is well regarded amongst colleagues for his excellent clinical decision making and a good team player.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing badminton, chess and tennis.
