About me
Professor Anthony Mathur trained at Cambridge University and University College London. He is a Consultant Cardiologist and holds senior management positions at Barts Heart Centre, Barts Health NHS Trust (one of Europe’s foremost centres of excellence for the treatment of heart disease).
Prof Mathur has over 20 years of experience specialising in interventional cardiology and the treatment of heart attacks. He sees all general cardiology patients and specialises in the treatment of chest pain, diagnostic angiography as well as percutaneous coronary intervention including 'complex' cases.
Prof Mathur also runs an extensive research programme to develop new treatments for patients with heart disease. He is an internationally recognised key opinion leader in the field of regenerative medicine and sits on several international advisory groups. He has led many trials of cell therapy for a range of cardiovascular diseases. He is happy to take referrals for patients seeking to learn more about some of the latest developments in cardiology including stem cells and gene therapy.
