About me

I specialise in Gastroenterology with specific interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn's disease, Ulcerative colitis, IBD unspecified) and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy such as PEGs, EMR polypectomies. I also see conditions related to heartburn/ indigestion/ reflux/ Barrett's oesophagus. Bowel cancer screening and also irritable bowel syndrome.

I perform various diagnostic and therapeutics endoscopic procedures from gastroscopies, colonoscopies and flexible sigmoidoscopies. I am also nationally accredited Bowel Cancer Screening colonoscopist's performing colonoscopy at a nationally recognised higher quality. This is audited internally and externally annually.

To date I have performed >4,000 colonoscopies and >3,000 gastroscopies.

I was appointed as Consultant Gastroenterologist at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust since 2016 after completing my specialist medical training in the North West Deanery. I graduated from University of Dundee in 2007 being on the Dean's lists, completed Foundation Year Training in Edinburgh (2009) and Core Medical Training in Glasgow (2011) before obtaining Gastroenterology specialist training number in the North West Deanery.

I have been the Governance Lead in Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and currently the Endoscopy Training Lead for the department supporting doctors in training and endoscopy nurses.

I am also involved in the training of both medical students, doctors in training, nurse endoscopists and physician associates in the wards and endoscopy environment in their stage of training.

I am passionate with my work and always strive to provide a safe, thorough clinical review of all my patients.
