About me

As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, whatever brings you to therapy, my priority is to ensure that you are carefully listened to with respect. I offer a confidential, safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, learn about yourself and grow. I work on the fundamental principle that talking really helps.

We all experience difficult times in our lives, or we have issues that are troubling for us to think about. It may be that for you, life is a struggle or a challenge at the moment or there may be specific issues which you would like to think through and now is the right time for you to do this.

In coming to therapy, you will have the opportunity to share and explore your situation with me. I will encourage and support you throughout the process, ask questions and consider different perspectives with you. This sharing and exploration will help you to gain a better understanding of yourself and how you interact in the world in which you live. Rather than answers and advice coming from me, together we will try to help you identify and access your own inner strength and resources to hopefully enable you to grow and move forward in your life. I believe that everyone is unique and special. With this in mind, my training and experience enables me to tailor how we work together to meet your individual needs by incorporating several schools of thought and a variety of approaches.

My work as a therapist is enriched by over 25 years' experience of working, as a nurse, in the NHS with families who are living with complex health problems. I am very experienced in working with families from diverse backgrounds and cultures and it has been a privilege to have worked with a number of families for many years. I feel that this has been invaluable in underpinning my work as a counsellor.

In order to meet with you, I am able to offer you a face to face consultation, an online consultation or a telephone consultation.
