About me

I am a Consultant Cardiologist based at the Trent Cardiac Centre, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. I specialise in heart rhythm disorders and heart failure. I am experienced in a wide range of cardiovascular conditions that encompasses the investigation and management of palpitations, breathlessness, chest pain, dizzy spells, blackouts, swollen ankles and high blood pressure.

I am experienced in implanting cardiac devices (pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronisation therapy, loop recorder) having performed over 1,300 procedures with low complication rates. I am one of the highest implanters in the region and perform over 200 procedures per year. I also have an interest in advanced device therapy including conduction system pacing and subcutaneous defibrillators. I have both International and European certification in cardiac devices.

I obtained my undergraduate medical degree from the University of Birmingham and have been a doctor for over 15 years. I started cardiology training in 2012 at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester and have spent dedicated time in the research field where I have presented at numerous national and international conferences, published peer-reviewed articles in medical journals (including Heart, JACC-EP, Europace) and supported clinical trials. Having completed cardiology training in 2021, I was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust where I continue to deliver high quality, patient-centred care.

In addition to my clinical role, I am also the Cardiology Junior Doctor Lead providing education and pastoral support to less experienced junior doctor colleagues as well as allied healthcare professionals.
