About me
Hello, I'm Jamie, and I hold a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling.
I would love to be part of your support system. Having someone beside you on your healing journey is so important, you are not alone, and you don't have to suffer in silence. I aim to provide a calm, gentle, and patient relationship for all my clients, where you feel safe to explore, heal, and grow.
My Approach
I care deeply about the well-being of those I work with. Everyone is welcome in my space, no matter your background, and I want to hear your story. You deserve a non-judgmental environment where you can truly be seen and heard.
I draw on several theories of change to help you get to where you want to be, and my priority is to build a strong, trusting relationship so you feel safe. We have all the time we need to create that foundation.
While therapy can involve exploring painful feelings, it can also be a surprisingly enlightening experience.
My Therapeutic Style
As an integrated therapist, I don't believe one approach suits everyone. Every client is unique, so I tailor my practice to meet individual needs. At the heart of my work is the person-centred approach, which means offering empathy, acceptance, and understanding.
Alongside this, I integrate elements of psychodynamic, transactional analysis, and compassion-focused theories. I am also currently training to be an EMDR therapist and will fully qualify at the end of October.
This helps us recognise how past experiences, early life conditioning, and long-standing relational patterns influence how we think, feel, and behave today. My role is to walk alongside you, offering compassion, honesty, and a down-to-earth presence.
Together, we will explore the challenges you face and discover what works best for you. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and counselling can help you reconnect with your inner wisdom, self-compassion, and resilience.
Inclusivity
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I know what it's like to feel different from what is considered normal. I work empathetically and without judgment, believing our differences are what make us unique and beautiful.
My own experiences have shown me the value of having a safe space to process trauma, loss, and overwhelming emotions. I know how transformative it can be, and I consider it a privilege to help others through similar challenges.
Areas of Focus
I am passionate about helping people heal from toxic shame, unresolved childhood trauma, and relational issues. Through inner child healing and compassion-focused work, I help clients learn to reparent themselves, increase self-confidence, and strengthen their relationships with themselves and others.
I work with those who want to learn to be kinder to themselves, break free from harsh self-criticism, and discover what healthier boundaries look like. I also support people affected by loss, anxiety, and those from marginalized communities.
Through self-nurturing, we focus on moving from surviving to thriving, reducing fear around painful emotions and moving toward authentic self-acceptance.
Availability
I work both online via Microsoft Teams and face-to-face in St Ann's Square, Manchester City Centre. Sessions are 50 minutes long and can be arranged weekly or biweekly.
How It Works
I offer a free 15-minute introduction via Microsoft Teams. This allows us to talk about what brings you to counselling, ask questions, and see if we are a good fit. If you feel confident about working together, we can skip the introduction and move straight to arranging sessions.

Your First Session
By the end of your first session, you will have a sense of what it feels like to work with me and whether we are a good match. There is no obligation to continue if it does not feel right. What matters most is that you feel comfortable, supported, and confident in your choice.
