About me
I have over twenty years of experience as a psychologist, most of which I spent working in the NHS before moving into full-time private practice. During that time, I supported people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, and also helped to set up and lead new mental health services in the local area.
My main therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I developed a specialist interest in ACT in 2007 and remain passionate about its focus on helping people to live meaningful, fulfilling lives, even in the presence of challenges. I also have training and leadership experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), a highly effective treatment for difficulties with emotion regulation.
Alongside my clinical work, I regularly attend training and professional events, and I have presented research and provided training to other mental health professionals. My aim is always to bring this depth of experience into therapy in a way that feels collaborative, practical and tailored to each individual.
