About me
Mr. Craig Mackay is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen. With over 15 years of experience, he specializes in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders with a particular interest in colorectal cancer. He also has expertise in proctology (haemorrhoids, anal fissures, fistulas) and hernias (inguinal and para-umbilical hernias). Mr. Mackay holds a PhD in colorectal cancer and maintains a strong research output, consistently publishing and presenting his work at national and international conferences. His practice emphasizes a proactive approach to early diagnosis and intervention, helping improve patient outcomes. He is an advocate of preventative medicine and believes in the role of a healthy lifestyle in reducing the risk of colorectal disease and the benefits of identifying disease at an early stage.
He provides comprehensive colonoscopy services, including screening and the removal of complex polyps, which contributes to the early detection and treatment of colorectal diseases.
