About me

I am an experienced HCPC Registered Counselling Psychologist and BACP Accredited Therapist with over 14 years experience working across NHS and private healthcare services. I work with adults, children and young people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

My specialist area of practice is working with trauma, attachment, and the lasting impact of difficult life experiences. I have extensive experience supporting individuals who have experienced childhood adversity, relationship difficulties, medical trauma, accidents, bereavement, and other traumatic events. I am passionate about helping clients make sense of how past experiences continue to influence their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and wellbeing, enabling lasting psychological change.

I provide a warm, compassionate, and trauma informed approach, placing the therapeutic relationship at the centre of my work. I believe that meaningful change begins when people feel genuinely safe, understood, and accepted. My aim is to create a supportive environment where clients feel able to explore even the most difficult experiences at their own pace.

Rather than following one fixed therapeutic model, I integrate evidence based approaches to meet each individuals needs. These include:
• Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
• Person-Centred Therapy
• Psychodynamic Therapy
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
• Play Therapy (Children and Young People)

My clinical experience includes bereavement, adult mental health, health psychology, psychosis, older adult services, and children and young people's services. I now work exclusively in private practice, supporting clients with both common mental health difficulties and more complex or longstanding emotional difficulties.

Appointments are available:
• Online throughout the UK
• Face-to-face in South Shields (Wednesday appointments)
• Flexible appointment times, subject to availability
