About me

Mr Connell has been a Consultant Gynaecologist in West Kent, since 2003 He qualified from Guys and St Thomas Hospitals in London. All of his training has been in London and the South East.

He undertook research using minimal access (laparoscopic)surgery (key hole surgery), part of which involved treating fibroids with low power lasers, and treating heavy periods.

He left Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital to become Medical Director and the Chief Medical Officer at Benenden Hospital and the Benenden Society. He works at three private Hospitals in Kent as a general gynaecologist and he is also a urogynaecologist and specialises in the management of prolapse, incontinence and vaginal reconstructive surgery. He is a laparoscopic (key-hole) surgeon e.g. performing laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomies.

He is an expert in the use of new and innovative techniques for the management of prolapse and incontinence. He introduced laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomies to local Hospitals, both NHS and the local Private Hospitals over 15 years ago. These techniques are designed to reduce complications of treatment and improve outcomes. These techniques are commonplace now.
