About me

Mr Connell is a Consultant Gynaecologist in West Kent. He qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. All of his training has been in London and the South East.

He undertook research using minimal access (laparoscopic)surgery (key hole surgery), part of which involved treating fibroids with low power lasers, and treating heavy periods.

He works in Hospitals in Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. He works as a general gynaecologist and is also a urogynaecologist and specialises in the management of prolapse, incontinence and vaginal surgery. He is a laparoscopic (key-hole) surgeon e.g. performing laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomies.

He is an expert in the use of new and innovative techniques for the management of prolapse and incontinence. He introduced laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomies (“day-case” hysterectomies) to local Hospitals, both NHS and the local Private Hospitals over 15 years ago. These techniques are designed to reduce complications of treatment and improve outcomes.
