About me

I'm a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with 13 years experience working with adults in a range of specialist services in the NHS and private practice. I offer a warm , supportive and relaxed therapeutic space. My main area of specialism has been working with trauma and providing structured trauma interventions. I have a specialist interest in supporting parents both within the perinatal period and beyond this stage for a range of difficulties including post-natal depression, anxiety, birth trauma, neonatal trauma, loss and adjustment to parenting. I have additional specialist training in supporting parent infant relationships and promoting secure attachments.

I currently work as clinical psychologist in an NHS Maternity & Neonatal psychological interventions team. Prior to this I have significant experience working across a range of services including psychiatric rehabilitation wards, forensic services. Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, and a specialist services for veterans.

Areas of challenges I provide support with include:
- Dealing with the emotional aftermath of a difficult, distressing or traumatic birth experience.
-Dealing with the emotional aftermath of a premature birth / neonatal admission for your baby
-Feeling low after the birth of your baby
-Struggling to manage the transition and adjustment to parenthood, including role changes and relationship dynamics
-Feeling disconnected from or difficulties bonding with your baby
-baby loss including miscarriage, stillbirth, infertility
-Feelings of anxiety, or low mood during your pregnancy
-Feeling anxious about lots of different things in the postnatal period
-Experiencing distressing or intrusive thoughts
-Feeling afraid or anxious about giving birth
-Struggling with resurfaced memories from your own experiences of being parented
-Struggling with perfectionism
-Supporting partners to navigate their own emotional responses and support their partner during pregnancy, and after childbirth.
