About me
I have been a colorectal consultant surgeon for over 15 years and University of Sheffield Professor of Surgery since 2017. I have an interest in all aspects of colorectal surgery but particularly inflammatory conditions of the bowel and problems with pelvic floor function including difficulty evacuating, prolapse and incontinence. I have a large NHS practice in these areas and work closely with experts locally and around the country. I have also trained in colonoscopy for over 20 years, learning initially from Japanese and Singaporian experts in the use of colonoscopy with minimal discomfort. I also practice the HALO procedure for haemorrhoids and have carried out definite research in this area in particular.
Areas of interest
Colorectal surgery (lower GI); Inflammatory bowel disease; Constipation; Hernia
