About me
Mr Singh's specialist interest and research experience are in oesophago-gastric (OG) cancer surgery. He benefited tremendously from observational Fellowships in OG resections in Tokyo, Chile, Utrecht and Hong Kong. He completed his PhD in OG cancer research at Imperial College London with Professor George Hanna and a post-CCT Fellowship in resectional OG surgery in Oxford with Professor Nick Maynard prior to his substantive Consultant OG Surgeon post in Preston.
He has extensive exposure to the full spectrum of emergency, general and gastrointestinal surgery. He is JAG-accredited in upper GI endoscopy and recognised by the Royal College of Surgeons and GMC as a surgical trainer. He is an Honorary Lecturer and Examiner for Manchester Medical School.
His PhD research in the application of gold nanoparticles in oesophago-gastric cancer was funded by the European Research Council grant 'OPTIMISE'. It was presented internationally and nationally at over 26 conferences and he was awarded the prestigious Syme Medal from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh along with a further 8 awards nationally and internationally and has given multiple presentations internationally. The work was published in 7 high impact journals.
