About me

Hello, my name is Leanne Alston. I'm a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with over a decade of experience working in NHS mental health services. I'm trained in Low and High Intensity CBT, EMDR, and Couples Therapy, and I work with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, excessive worry, low mood, stress, burnout, OCD, trauma and PTSD. I offer evidence-based support to help you understand your patterns, build resilience, and develop the tools to feel more in control of your wellbeing.
I am passionate about promoting good mental fitness, supporting people to maintain emotional strength and flexibility in the same way we might care for our physical health. As part of this, I often advocate for movement, time in nature, and exercise as powerful tools for mental wellbeing, and weave these into therapy where it fits your lifestyle and goals.
I have additional training in CBT for long-term health conditions, such as Diabetes, Chronic Pain, Cancer, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, helping clients cope with the emotional toll of physical symptoms.
I also offer support through sports psychology, working with individuals to boost motivation, performance, and confidence, or to rebuild mental strength after injury, whether you're a professional athlete or simply working on a healthier mindset around sport and exercise.
Sessions are available remotely (MS Teams or phone) or in-person. If you'd like to learn more or see if we're a good fit, please feel free to reach out for a free consultation or to book an appointment.
