About me

Simon Neal is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with thirty years experience working within the NHS in the area of Mental and Physical Health.

He is a specialist in Health Psychology, which focuses on the psychological processes involved in maintaining good physical health. This includes accepting and adapting to physical ill health, managing the thoughts and feelings that result from illness and minimising the impact of illness on social and psychological functioning.

Simon provides services to Adults of any age.

Simon specialises in helping people manage the impact of long term physical health conditions such as Chronic Pain, CFS/ME, Long Covid, Diabetes, Heart disease and Cancer.

In addition Simon has extensive experience of working with people with mental health problems including Anxiety (including health anxiety), Depression, miscarried grief, Early life trauma, and PTSD.

Simon offers individual, needs-based Psychological support and uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches. He also has long experience using a range of trauma focused interventions.

Simon is able to offer telephone, remote or face to face assessment and Therapy Sessions.
