About me

Dr Christina Wilson is a Consultant in Clinical Oncology at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow.

She graduated from University of Dundee Medical School in 2007 ranking in the first quartile with Distinction in 2005. She undertook her clinical oncology training at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre from 2011-16. She received her MRCP in 2010, FRCR in 2015 and was awarded a Royal College Proton Fellowship which she undertook at the University of Florida Proton Institute in Florida in 2015.

Dr Wilson has been working as a consultant with special interest in Head and Neck and Upper GI cancer since 2016.
Her NHS practice covers several health boards for both cancer team sites and treatment she specialises in includes radiotherapy, including stereotactic radiotherapy, and systemic drug therapy, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy.

Dr Wilson has been principal investigator of several national and international multi-centre trials including INOVATE and DARS. She is co-investigator in a number of others for head and neck and upper GI.

Dr Wilson is a Clinical Expert Opinion for the Scottish Medicines Consortium on new medicine approval requests and peer reviewer for British Journal of Cancer.

She is Lead Author of the West of Scotland Oesophago-gastric cancer management guidelines and Lead Co-Author of the West of Scotland Head and Neck cancer clinical management guidelines and is currently Oncology Co-Chair in the National Head and Neck clinical management guideline committee.

Dr Wilson is extensively involved in educational and training at local and national level. Her current educational roles include:

She has contributed to published cancer book chapters, participated as a speaker or panel member in several national conferences and author on numerous peer-reviewed journal publications.
