About me

David Gruhl is a Sports Podiatrist with a special interest in diagnosing and treating foot and ankle pain. He works with active individuals of all ages, from recreational walkers and runners to competitive athletes, helping them return to activity with confidence.

David's approach is centred on understanding why an injury has developed rather than simply treating the symptoms. Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual and combines a thorough assessment with evidence-based rehabilitation, footwear advice, orthotic therapy where appropriate, and diagnostic ultrasound when this can help guide diagnosis and management.

He has particular expertise in plantar heel pain, Achilles tendinopathy, posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, forefoot pain, running-related injuries and lower limb biomechanics. He also has extensive experience prescribing footwear and bespoke orthoses as part of a comprehensive treatment strategy.

David graduated from Queensland University of Technology before completing a Master's degree in Sports Medicine with distinction at Queen Mary University of London. He is also currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound of the Foot and Ankle from Brunel University and is a Fellow in Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

His aim is to provide clear explanations, practical treatment plans and long-term solutions that help patients move with less pain and return to the activities that matter most to them.
