About me
Dr Romila Bahl is a fully qualified Sports & Exercise Medicine physician. Dr Bahl trained formally in Sports & Exercise Medicine after working for 10 years as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Major Trauma. She runs a Regional Paediatric and Adolescent Sports Medicine Service and works for the Faculty of Sports Medicine in promoting physical activity.
Dr Bahl graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of London in 1995. She holds CCTs in both Emergency Medicine and Sports Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Sports Medicine (FSEM) and Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM). She has Distinctions in Postgraduate Certificates in Performing Arts Medicine and Focused Ultrasound.
Dr Bahl has worked with Olympic, Paralympic and Military athletes as well as all levels of recreational and club athletes . She is an expert in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of acute and chronic musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and helping those with MSK related pain. Dr Bahl offers a comprehensive MSK health assessment and uses her extensive medical knowledge to individualise a plan that fits into the lifestyle and requirements of her patients. Her goals are to keep people doing the activities and sports they love and to open up physical activity to all. Dr Bahl has had first hand experience of being injured herself and also working through injury and medical conditions disrupting the sporting goals of her teenage children. She knows the frustration and wants to help patients minimise impact whilst working towards a realistic recovery. She is keen to listen and knows, from both her personal and extensive NHS experience how impactful musculoskeletal injuries and pain can be and how important it is to get the right diagnosis and plan.
