About me
My name is Sarah and I am a psychotherapist. I was previously a lawyer for many years in London and the South East before taking time to raise my three children in Dorset. During this time I also had extensive experience of a boarding school setting in a pastoral capacity. From 2005, I embarked on counselling training and I then spent some years working as a practitioner with people experiencing addiction. I did this in both the Probation Service and the charity sector. In 2013 I moved with my husband and children to Lincolnshire. Since then I have worked as a recovery practitioner for the NHS in a prison. I also obtained a Master's degree and clinical qualification in Psychotherapy from The Sherwood Institute in Nottingham. During that time I specialised in supporting men, women and children who were survivors of sexual abuse and assault, including childhood trauma. More recently I worked as a lead counsellor in the charity sector and also as a psychotherapist for students at Birmingham University (BACP accredited). For the past six years I have focused on my busy private practice working with individuals, couples and other relationships. I have also completed a year's training and qualified as a couples counsellor. I am also a UKCP accredited in Clinical Supervisor to be able to provide individual and group support for therapists and other professionals.
