About me

Dr Kaustubh Nisal is a senior consultant endocrinologist practising in Nottingham and Leicester, with specialist expertise across general endocrinology, diabetes, thyroid disorders, and transgender hormone therapy.
Dr Nisal obtained his primary medical qualification from the University of Pune, India, before completing postgraduate training in internal medicine, where he developed a focused interest in endocrinology and diabetes. He went on to complete specialist training in the UK, gaining CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) accreditation in endocrinology, diabetes, and general internal medicine.

Dr Nisal manages a broad range of endocrine and metabolic conditions, with particular expertise in:

Thyroid and parathyroid disorders
Adrenal conditions
Hormone replacement therapy
Gender-affirming hormone therapy (transgender endocrinology)
Complex type 1 diabetes and diabetes technology (insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring)
Antenatal diabetes and endocrine conditions in pregnancy

He serves as Lead Endocrinologist at the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health and supports transgender endocrinology care teams in Manchester and the East of England.
