About me
I am a Health Care and Professions Council registered Clinical Psychologist with over twelve years of experience working in mental health NHS services. I now work as a clinical psychologist in private practice and as a lecturer on a clinical psychology training programme.
I have predominantly worked with children, young people and their families in paediatric services and education settings. I have specialities in supporting children, young people and families experiencing anxiety and low mood following a newly diagnosed, or pre-existing, health condition.
I am also experienced in offering support with any of the following:
-School-based difficulties including emotionally based school non-attendance and separation anxiety.
-Understanding and managing behaviours that challenge.
-Mental health difficulties for autistic young people and young people with learning disabilities.
-Trauma
-Panic attacks
-Friendship difficulties
-Low self-esteem and confidence
-Anger difficulties
-Sleeping difficulties
-Stress and worry
-Bereavement and loss
I value working in a compassionate and collaborative way and will invest in getting to know you, and your family's, unique skills and strengths. I strive to build a safe space for you to talk openly and hope to put you at ease as we work towards achieving your goals.
I draw on a range of psychological models and theories including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Systemic Family Therapy.
