About me

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor based in Aylesbury. I provide individual counselling to adults, and this can be in-person or online on an open-ended or time-limited basis.

My clinical experience includes working in the private and public sector and the issues I regularly work with in my counselling practice include anger; anxiety; bereavement; depression; identity; loss; relationship difficulties; self-esteem; self-harm; sexuality; work-related issues.

Counselling begins with a consultation. We will meet for a 50-minute session and this will give us a feeling of what it will be like to work together. As we explore what's brought you to this moment that you wanted to see me I will listen as well as ask you some questions to help me to understand what you are looking for from counselling. Whilst there might be a specific issue you want to work on, there might be something less specific. Perhaps you feel that something needs to change but feel unsure about how to do this.�

To help you make sense of things I will help you explore your thoughts and feelings in relation to current or past difficulties, rather than telling you what to do and this may help you to understand things about yourself and to feel more confident in talking things through. Over time you can begin to reframe thoughts and feelings that might be holding you back and to think about ways in which you might do things differently so you can make decisions that are right for you.

Counselling allows you the support and space to think about you, and as your counsellor you can talk to me about anything in-confidence and without judgement.
