About me

Im Heidi, an experienced psychologist. I work passionately to help adults overcome their problems and get on with enjoying their lives.

If your problems been bothering you for a while, didn't really shift when you tried therapy before, or returned once therapy ended, you shouldnt feel disheartened. My greatest joy and satisfaction as a therapist is helping clients like you to finally get unstuck and find freedom.

I work with people who are tired of feeling trapped by the past. They want to move past painful experiences and stop repeating patterns that don't work for them. Clients who work with me have usually struggled for a long time. Many have been in therapy before.

I help people get more from therapy than simply learning to manage their problem better. Together, we address the past hurts and childhood experiences that contribute to difficulties in their lives and relationships.

It is possible to get so much more from therapy than simply insight or better coping skills.

Your difficulties dont need to keep overshadowing your life.

Every human being is hardwired to heal and to grow, and you are no exception.

How can I help you feel better?

My style is warm and involved and I'm skilled in many strategies that can help you bring about real and meaningful change.

I work with adults whose problems typically stem from painful experiences in childhood. I help you overcome these by;

- building your awareness and understanding

- actively processing old emotion

- helping you break free from problematic behaviour patterns

I have worked for 20 years in the NHS. I love being a psychologist and am always learning and developing so that I can help my clients more effectively.

My clients describe me as a calm and steady presence, and someone who cares and understands.

I am LGBTQ+ allied.

So, if you've had enough of feeling rubbish, and feel ready for some change, take the next step and contact me. I'd love to hear from you, and we'll take it from there!

Areas of interest

I offer online and in-person sessions.

I help with a range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, the impact of family issues on individual members, emotional abuse, low self-esteem or low self-confidence, perfectionism and overwork. Lots of people reach out to me because their life feels empty and dissatisfying.

I specialise in helping people overcome childhood trauma (complex trauma), emotional abuse or emotional neglect. Painful childhood experiences and even trauma are at the heart of many problems.

I also provide therapy to other psychologists and therapists, a client group I have enjoyed serving since the start of my private practice.
