About me
I graduated from the University of Birmingham Medical School with Honors in Biomedical Sciences. I then pursued my Ophthalmology training at the West Midlands School of Ophthalmology. I completed my advanced sub-specialty fellowship in Cornea and External Eye Disease at the Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary after obtaining FRCOphth (Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London).
I have since been working as a substantive Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
I am dedicated to medical leadership, and I have been awarded the Leadership Academy Award from NHS Healthcare Leadership Foundations. My performance has also been recognised through winning the Arthur Thomson Scholarship for Ophthalmology training and the Duke Elder Prize.
Areas of interest
I am highly experienced in treating patients with;
- dry eye disorders
- corneal dystrophies
- ocular surface inflammation and abnormal growths.
I perform both standard and complex cataract and refractive surgery, with expertise in managing high refractive errors, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
