About me

I am a Clinical Psychologist with experience providing psychological assessment, formulation and treatment to clients across the lifespan.

Since completing my doctorate training my work has been focussed on supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD and learning disability. I have experience in guiding clients through neurodevelopmental diagnostic process and I feel passionate about the importance of post-diagnostic support and fast access to services. I work on supporting clients to make sense of their lived experiences. In my sessions I aim to provide a safe and nurturing space to allow clients to explore and pursue their values and meaningful goals. My therapeutic work is mainly grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I enjoy working creatively, developing easy-read materials and adjusting my communication to the needs of the individual. I am trained in Video Interaction Guidance and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (level 1).

My therapeutic work is strongly influenced by systemic and attachment approaches. I enjoy working in partnership with families, schools and community services, focussing on understanding clients' strengths and needs. I offer direct therapeutic work, parent support, behaviour support plans and consultations; the aim being an increased understanding of a person's learning and psychological needs and supporting people in accessing reasonable adjustments and opportunity to reach their full potential.

I have a particular interest in working with people with long-term health conditions such as long covid, chronic fatigue and chronic pain. My clinical work and personal experiences have provided me with a deep understanding of how physical, psychological health and neurodiversity can impact on a person's quality of life, relationships and opportunities. Prior to training as a Clinical Psychologist I worked with adults experiencing a range of difficulties such as insomnia, anxiety, low mood, trauma and addictions.

I am based in West Cornwall and can offer in-person sessions in this area. I can also offer therapy sessions and consultations online.
