About me
I was appointed as a consultant in August 2022. My practice focuses on lower limb arthroplasty and trauma.
I studied medicine at the University of Manchester and completed my higher surgical training in the Mersey region.
I completed a Major Trauma Fellowship at Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust and a hip and knee primary and revision (re-do) joint replacement fellowship at James Cook University Hospital, South Tees NHS Foundation Trust. This focussed on managing patients requiring complex primary joint replacements as well as failing joint replacements. I also completed the British Orthopaedic Association- Future Leaders Programme.
My current practice consists of the management of patients with hip and knee conditions. I specialise in hip and knee joint replacement surgery and revision hip and knee surgery. For suitable patients, I look to promote enhanced recovery, day case surgery and early supported discharge for joint replacement patients.
I have presented nationally and internationally regarding hip and knee conditions and my publications reflect this focus.
I have a keen interest in training and education and has been awarded membership to the Academy of Medical Educators and Faculty of Surgical Trainers. I am a British Hip Society Mentor.
