About me

About me
I'm primarily trained as a CBT therapist specialising in a wide range of anxiety and mood disorders. I work in an honest and respectful way. I can offer you time in a non-pressurised comfortable space to help work through your difficulties.

About me

I am a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist and I have been qualified as a CBT Therapist for the last 11 years. I have over 15 years experience working in various mental health roles within both private and public sectors.

How therapy works

I believe in order for therapy to be effective, as a therapist I need to be able to listen to you and really hear what is going on. Sometimes people are distressed or in pain for any number of reasons - known or unknown to them and they need some space to figure it out.

Listening to what you are going through is the first step, things become easier to manage when you have space to see them more clearly. Consider things you have struggled with in your life? How did you feel about those things when you had time and space to think about them more clearly? Learning to buy ourselves a bit of time is a necessity these days.

What to expect

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet each other. The most important aspect of this is that you feel comfortable and we begin to get a clear sense of what is causing you difficulty. I am happy to have an informal chat with you about how therapy works or if you prefer you can drop me an e-mail. I am happy to provide in person, zoom or telephone sessions.

My approach

Although trained as a CBT therapist I draw upon different schools of therapy to find the best way in helping people. Being able to draw on different ways of working means we can find a way that best helps you. We all live in an increasingly uncertain and challenging world. Therapy needs to be personalised not standardised. There is no one size fits all so together we find what works best for you.
