About me

Dr Dev Chauhan is a Consultant Geriatrician and Acute & General Medicine Physician based in London. He looks after private patients at The Physicians' Clinic and The Princess Grace Hospital, alongside his NHS work at the Royal Free Hospital.

Dr Chauhan specialises in seeing older aged people with multiple chronic long term conditions. He has expertise in managing people with cognitive disorders, osteoporosis, falls and optimisation of their medical conditions prior to invasive procedures or surgery.

Dr Chauhan provides comprehensive and holistic assessments - putting the patient at the centre of care they receive. He prides himself on his communication skills and the rapport he builds with his patients. Seeing a doctor and managing your health can be a stressful encounter, but he takes time with his patients to ensure his medical recommendations have been thoroughly explained.

Dr Chauhan was appointed as a Consultant Physician at the Royal Free Hospital in 2023 and is the Clinical Lead for Frailty. He sees patients in Accident Emergency and the Acute Assessment Unit when they first present to hospital. In this role, he recognises the need for prompt assessment and rapid diagnoses and management plans.

Dr Chauhan qualified with a BSc in Physiology at the Kings College London in 2011 and completed his medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Leicester in 2013. He then undertook postgraduate medical training in a variety of London Teaching Hospitals including St Marys, Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Northwick Park and St Georges Hospitals.

Dr Chauhan achieved his MRCP(UK) in 2016 and completed his Specialty Certificate Examination in 2018. He is dual accredited to work as a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine.

Alongside his specialty training, Dr Chauhan completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education, at the University of Cardiff in 2014 and was awarded for his contribution to teaching by the South Thames Foundation School. He remains actively involved in undergraduate medical education with the UCL Medical School.

Dr Chauhan worked for the National Medical Director of NHS England as a Clinical Fellow 2018-19 and supported the delivery of several national policies, including the NHS Long term Plan (2019), Clinical Review of Standards and the Evidenced Based Interventions Programme.
