About me

Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional - is the ethos by which I practise. Whilst it is not your fault that you are going through difficulties that are impacting your wellbeing, it is positive that you have taken steps towards finding a path out of this distress.

I am a compassionate, trauma informed, and inclusive clinical psychologist who has ten years of experience as a qualified psychologist, working for the National Health Service (NHS) with young people, families, and adults. The main therapeutic model I use is cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I draw on other approaches including cognitive analytic therapy (CAT), compassion focused therapy (CFT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and mindfulness.

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) and an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I obtained my diploma in CBT at the University of Oxford to specialise in working with psychosis and trauma. I regularly access training to ensure that my therapy is up to date and evidence based.

My approach is recovery focused, collaborative, and inclusive. I am passionate about working with difference, and tailor my work to support peoples individual needs, such as when working with autistic people. I received an award for inclusive leadership in 2022 for setting up a special interest group on inclusion, diversity, and equality.

I am experienced in working with clients who are struggling with worry, stress, low mood, self-confidence, loss, the after effects of trauma, managing feelings, relating to others, mood swings, body image concerns alongside eating difficulties, suspiciousness, distressing and unusual beliefs or experiences, and hearing voices.

I will work with you to develop a shared understanding of your needs and the patterns that keep you stuck. We will then explore ways you can overcome this, building on the resources and strengths already within you, so that you can live the happier fulfilling life you deserve. I sincerely look forward to supporting you in your recovery journey.
