About me
I have been a Consulting Gastroeterologist for over a decade and a Professor of Gastroenterology since 2023. In addition, I am a key opinion leader, and a national and international expert in gastroenterology and inflammatory bowel disease, providing a tertiary level service in the East Midlands.
I am a gastroenteologist and I specialise in abdominal complaints like indigestion, abdominal pain and bowel issues. I further subspecialise in inflammatory bowel disease. I offer an endoscopy service.
I have been practicing in gastroenterology since 2003 and have undertaken >3,000 gastroscopies and 2,500 colonoscopies, both for diagnostic purposes as well as therapeutic such as removing polyps from the bowel.
I am a Professor of Gastroenterology at the University of Nottingham where I lead a vast research portfolio in inflammatory bowel disease, spanning from evidence synthesis to mechanistic work and clinical trials. I have been heavily involved in writing national and international guidelines in gastroenterology.
