Dr Shahida Ahmed is an experienced general paediatrician with interest in diabetes and endocrinology, currently working as a consultant at Basildon Hospital, Mid and South Essex Hospital NHS Foundation trust since 2016.
She manages children from birth till age 16 years and runs general paediatric, paediatric diabetes and endocrine clinics.

Dr Ahmed is the lead of paediatric diabetes service at Basildon hospital which has been awarded �positive outlier� status consistently in view of excellent HbA1c results in national paediatric diabetes audits (NPDA). Dr Ahmed received �RCPCH National Clinical Excellence Award� in 2019 and �Special commendation for innovative paediatric practice and development awrd� in 2018 by North East London Paediatric Critical care Network.

Dr Ahmed has received excellent feedback on her listening skills, understanding and going above and beyond in caring for her patients. She strives to provide holistic, professional, best quality up-to-date care to her patients and their families.
Dr Ahmed is an educational/clinical supervisor as well as an appraiser. She takes active part in medical student teaching and paediatric resuscitation using simulation training. She has presented at several national and international conferences and has authored a number of publications.
