About me

I qualified as a counsellor in 2002. For 5 years I worked in the substance misuse field but gradually came to believe that the majority of the people that I worked with were using drugs or alcohol as a way of coping with a deeply distressing childhood. Becoming frustrated with treating the symptoms rather than addressing the cause, in 2010 I was pleased to be offered a job with an agency who work with adults abused as children. I am still on their staff, but have now developed a private practice which takes up the majority of my time. I continue to be hugely passionate and deeply committed to helping people overcome their difficulties and the survival behaviours that arise from their challenging childhood experiences.
