About me
I'm Alastair, a registered Clinical Psychologist and fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I can provide in-person psychological assessments (including autism, ADHD and gender dysphoria/incongruence assessments), and therapy from The Court House in the centre of Warwick, or online via Zoom.
My approach is empathetic, focused, analytical and integrative, meaning I focus on your needs and goals, and draw on a range of evidence-based approaches to help you move forwards. I have particular expertise in working with LGBTQ+ people, including trans and non-binary people, and men's mental health.
I provide psychological therapy for a range of issues including depression, all types of anxiety (such as worry, perfectionism, OCD), self-criticism, stress, relationship issues and low self-esteem. I draw on CBT and compassion-focused therapy mainly, though will integrate other approaches as helpful.
I have worked in a range of NHS settings supporting adults with mild to complex difficulties. I have particular expertise and experience working with LGBTQ+ and trans adults and men's mental health, and hold additional accreditations as a Gender Specialist with the Ministry of Justice, and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I support a lot of neurodivergent people, being knowledgeable in both autism and ADHD. I also offer regular group therapies, as well as training, workshops and support for companies regarding mental health and neurodiversity, see: https://www.unlockpsychology.co.uk
