About me
Hello I'm Hayley, Clinical Psychologist based in Derbyshire and South Yorkshire with over 16 years of experience working in the NHS, independent health settings and the voluntary sector.
Seeking help and beginning therapy can be a big step and can feel daunting. My goal is to offer you a supportive and understanding environment where you can freely explore and address your psychological concerns. I value the therapeutic relationship as being the key to therapeutic change and enjoy working collaboratively.
Sessions can be face to face or online. I provide evidence-based interventions for psychological problems as recommended by the National Institute for Clinical Health Excellence (NICE). I offer various therapies including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). Therapy sessions can be short term or long term and can be with individuals or families.
There are many different reasons people choose to seek therapy. It may be that you are struggling with anxiety, depression, difficult thoughts, feelings or behaviours, or distress due to past experiences. It may not be that you want therapy for major life crisis. Sessions may be useful to reflect on what is happening for you and think about a way forward. Things may be happening in your life involving relationships and you may want to bring a partner or family member with sessions helping to facilitate communication working through difficulties. Whatever your reasons for wanting therapy, we can work together in a supportive and compassionate environment to bring about the change you are seeking.
I offer a free no obligation 30 minute conversation to talk about the difficulties you are facing and check I am best placed to support you. It is important to find someone who you feel is a good fit for you.
